Comedy Beats Brawn At The Box Office

Hollywood megastar ROBERT DE NIRO is laughing all the way to the bank as MEET THE PARENTS trumped Hollywood tough guy SYLVESTER STALLONE'S GET CARTER 2000 to top the box office charts.

Talk is already rife of a sequel as the DE NIRO/BEN STILLER comedy took almost £20 million ($30million) on the opening weekend, nearly five times as the remade classic British gangster film.

GET CARTER has been widely criticised in America, despite featuring a cameo appearance by original star SIR MICHAEL CAINE and could only manage third place.
