Michael Caine has signed up to star with Nicolas Cage and Hope Davis in The Weather Man.

Set in Chicago and New York, the Paramount drama is due to start filming in Chicago later this month, reports Teletext.

The film is being directed by Gore Verbinski who was behind Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl.

Cage plays a TV forecaster trying to get back together with his estranged wife, played by American Splendor star Davis.

Caine will play his prize-winning author father.
