Margot Robbie's LuckyChap and Brad Pitt's Plan B in Talks to Remake 'The Thin Man'.

Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap and Brad Pitt’s Plan B are in talks to co-produce a remake of the classic 1934 comedy mystery "The Thin Man."

The rights to “The Thin Man” series just recently became available. Previously, Rob Marshall and Johnny Depp were set to direct and star, respectively, in a remake. However, Warner Brothers said at the time that the project was never greenlit and was scrapped back in 2012.

The award-winning actors have previously starred in the films Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Babylon, both of which were acclaimed, award-winning movies.

Based on the Dashiell Hammett crime novel, “The Thin Man” is a murder mystery about a husband and wife who partner up to find a missing acquaintance, who is later found to be murdered. Directed by W. S. Van Dyke, the 1934 film starred William Powell as husband Nick Charles and Myrna Loy as wife Nora Charles.

The husband-wife duo team up to solve the murder, hosting a dinner party where they invite the suspects. “The Thin Man” was nominated for four Academy Awards, including best picture and best actor for William Powell. It was followed by five sequels.

The original novel centers on Nick Charles, a retired private detective who has married into wealth and spends his days drinking and enjoying the good life with his wife, Nora. However, when Nick’s former police partner shows up asking for help finding a missing inventor, Nick can’t resist getting involved.

Nora, bored with her idle life, is also eager to join the investigation. Together, the Charleses follow a trail of clues that leads them through the seamy underbelly of New York City, encountering gangsters, gamblers, and other shady characters.
