The Ocean's Eleven Prequel Is Now Set to Begin Filming.

Warner Bros.’ untitled Ocean’s Eleven prequel production has been scheduled to begin later this month on June 30. The listing also confirmed that filming will be take place in France. The newest heist comedy will be led by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

The upcoming film is reportedly a remake of the original 1960 film which was directed by Lewis Milestone. It starred the members of the famous Rat Pack, including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. The film was also led by Emmy and Golden Globe-winning veteran actress Angie Dickinson.

The so-called Ocean's film franchise first rocked theaters way back in 2001 with Ocean's Eleven, which was directed by Steven Soderbergh and starred some of the most sought-after actors at the time, including Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Andy Garcia, and Julia Roberts. It established an entirely unique, stylish spin on the heist comedy film niche and was extraordinarily successful at the box office, inevitably spawning sequels, the latest being the female-led Ocean's 8 which came out in 2018 and starred the likes of Sandra Bullock and Anne Hathaway.

Before Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie can be seen coming up with a very elaborate heist, the pair will shine on the big screen this summer when Barbie releases in theatres. Robbie is set to star as the iconic doll, who lives in a world where everything is wonderful, lovely and mostly pink. Everything will change one fateful day, when Barbie will start to wonder if she can die and what that would mean for her future. Gosling will play Ken, her loving partner who is ready to join her in her quest for answers regarding the meaning of life. Greta Gerwig's latest feature is coming to cinemas on July 21.
