David Leitch In Talks To Direct Next Jurassic World Film.

Universal Pictures’ new Jurassic World pic is in early talks with Bullet Train and The Fall Guy director David Leitch to direct the next film in the billion dollar franchise.

Original "Jurassic Park" scribe David Koepp has returned to write the project which is already deep into development with the studio happy enough with the script to get it into production ASAP.

The film is said to be part of a 'new era' with an all-new storyline, thus not involving either "Jurassic World" leads Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, or returning "Jurassic Park" cast.

Steven Spielberg is set to executive produce the new movie through his company Amblin Entertainment. Fellow Jurassic Park vets Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will also serve as producers, alongside Leitch and Kelly McCormick of 87North.

David Leitch has been at the helm of some major movie releases in the past. He made his directorial debut as an uncredited co-director alongside Chad Stahelski on the original John Wick movie. He also helmed Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde, Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2, and the duo of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the Fast & Furious spinoff film Hobbs & Shaw. More recently, Leitch directed the star-studded action movie Bullet Train, and his next movie, The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, will be premiering at SXSW in March.
