Channing Tatum Teams with David Leitch For Spy Thriller 'Red Shirt'.


Channing Tatum has signed on for the leading role in the upcoming spy thriller film titled Red Shirt, which hails from Bullet Train director David Leitch.

The project is being dubbed a "new spin on James Bond" that has franchise potential.

Leitch is currently at work on The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling, while Tatum has Magic Mike's Last Dance due out next year.

Kelly McCormick and Leitch are producing under their 87 North production banner, with Tatum's Free Association on board as well as Kinberg's Genre Films production company. Several studios are now believed to have submitted offers to finance and distribute the project, and the belief is the project could well be sold to the highest bidder very soon.

Tatum is having himself quite the year with two hits in MGM’s Dog followed by Paramount’s The Lost City; Lost City grossed close to $200 million globally while Dog grossed $84 million on a $15 million budget.

Leitch is coming off his summer hit Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt which grossed $240 million at the global box office . He is about to start shooting The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.
