"Bang!" is based on the comic series of the same name by Matt Kindt and Wilfredo Torres and will be directed by David Leitch. Bang! isn't the only comic-based project Elba has up his sleeve at the moment. Regarding his role in DC's The Suicide Squad as Bloodsport, he said in 2021, "I'm excited about the possibilities in the DC world." Elba also expressed an interest in returning to the role of Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe despite the character's on-screen death. "I think that the constraints of the superhero universe are none, so everything is possible, and I think that Heimdall is an amazing character and still exists." Elba recently made a cameo as Heimdall in a Thor: Love and Thunder post-credits sequence. The scene takes place in Valhalla, which confirmed that the character is still present in the MCU, albeit not currently in the mortal realm.
