'The Fall Guy' Pushes Release Date to May 2024

Universal Pictures is pushing back the release of The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. The action comedy film was originally set to premiere on March 1, 2024, and will now drop on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Starring Ryan Gosling in the role originated by Lee Majors, the film follows Colt Seavers, a stunt performer who moonlights as a private investigator. While working on a film directed by his ex, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), he’s recruited by the film’s producer (Hannah Waddingham) to find the film’s missing star (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) while keeping his disappearance a secret from the studio and the public.

"He's a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment," a description reads. "And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?"

Gosling, Blunt and Leitch presented The Fall Guy on the CinemaCon stage in April during Universal’s presentation, where they talked about their upcoming project and how important it is.

"In most films, the actors get all the credit, but the stunt performers do all the work, and that ends today," the Barbie actor said, before later adding, "It was a huge honor to step into the footsteps of the iconic Lee Majors."
