"Ted Lasso" star Hannah Waddingham has joined the cast of Ryan Gosling's "The Fall Guy" film adaptation for Universal.
She joins a cast that includes Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Stephanie Hsu and Winston Duke in a film inspired by the Lee Majors-led 1980s television series.
"Hobbs & Shaw" filmmaker David Leitch is directing the project, which Universal acquired as a package in an auction. The feature film is inspired by the classic 1980s series of the same name created by Glen A. Larson.
Ryan Gosling is playing a battered and past-his-prime stuntman who finds himself back on a movie with the star (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) he worked with long ago and who replaced him. The problem, however, is that the star is now missing…
Emily Blunt has the role of a prosthetic makeup artist who was once romantically linked with our stuntman, while Duke is his best friend. Everything Everywhere All At Once's Stephanie Hsu is Taylor-Johnson's likely harried assistant.
Production for the film is set to begin in Australia this fall with a theatrical release date set for March 1, 2024.
