Kevin Spacey has said that Jesse Eisenberg will make the role of Lex Luthor his own.
The 54-year-old two-time Oscar-winner, who portrayed Superman's nemesis in Superman Returns (2006), feels the Academy Award-nominated Social Network, The (2010) star will do well in the role in the Man of Steel (2013) sequel, despite some initial criticism.
"First of all, I think he's a remarkable actor. He's just going to f***ing own it," he told Empire.
"I think it's a great idea and I wish him the best with it. I had a blast doing Lex," he added.
Kevin, who set up a theatre company in London's Old Vic and stars in US series House Of Cards, revealed he has little interest in playing bad guys all the time following his turns as Lex and in See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Seven.
"Now I want to explore different terrain. I'm interested in doing characters I haven't done before. I'm not going to play the evil guy in every movie I get offered," he said.
He added: "I will say that I'm most happy at the two incredible films that I produced - The Social Network and now Captain Phillips. I am very proud to have been involved with both of those. There's a lot more I want to experience. But it's early days."
