Speculating that the surprise ending of Unbreakable could be supplanted by a different surprise in a sequel, the online Ain't It Cool News site reported today (Thursday) that the film is actually the first part of a trilogy.
AICN cited an online interview with Bruce Willis, the film's star, which took place on the Yahoo! Web site on Nov. 6. In it, Willis was asked whether he plans to make any other films with M. Night Shyamalan, the Philadelphia-based filmmaker who directed him in The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. He replied: "Unbreakable is the first part of a trilogy of films. I can't tell you about the others, but we're supposed to do two more. You'll understand how it lends itself to a continuing story."
