Russell Crowe, Gwyneth Paltrow Nominated For A Golden Apple
RUSSELL CROWE, CUBA GOODING JR, WILL SMITH, KEVIN SPACEY and BRUCE WILLIS are all in the running for the MALE STAR OF THE YEAR award in this year's (00) GOLDEN APPLE awards.
The HOLLYWOOD WOMEN'S PRESS CLUB announced its nominees yesterday (04DEC00) for the 60th annual awards show, to be held at Los Angeles' swanky Beverly Hilton hotel this Sunday (10DEC00).
Women in the running for FEMALE STAR OF THE YEAR are MELANIE GRIFFITH, HELEN HUNT, GWYNETH PALTROW, JOAN ALLEN and MICHELLE PFEIFFER.
Also nominated for awards are BENJAMIN BRATT, JUDE LAW, PENELOPE CRUZ and KATE HUDSON, while a new category has been added - youth discovery of the year, with BILLY ELLIOT star JAMIE BELL and STUART LITTLE star JONATHON LIPNICKI hot favourites to carry off the prize. (LE/HR/KW)
