Russell Crowe to make 'The Water Diviner' his directorial debut?


Russell Crowe has entered talks to make his directorial debut in The Water Diviner.

The Man of Steel actor is also in line to star in the Andrew Knight and Andrew Anastasios-written period drama.

Set in 1919, Crowe will star as an Australian father who travels to Turkey to search for his sons, who have been missing since the Battle of Gallipoli.

Crowe has previously considered directing several Australian films including The Long Green Shore and Bra Boys.

He can currently be seen filling Marlon Brando's iconic role of Jor-El in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man of Steel.
