Ana de Armas in Talks to Star in John Wick Spin-off Ballerina.

Ana de Armas is reportedly in talks to take on the lead role in "Ballerina", a planned spin-off of the "John Wick" franchise at Lionsgate.

Ballerina will follow a young woman raised to be an assassin who seeks revenge on the people who killed her family. The premise was briefly teased in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum when Keanu Reeves’ title character visited Angelica Huston’s The Director, who raised John within the Ruska Roma crime syndicate back when he was known as Jardani Jovonovich.

The script for Ballerina, which was fast-tracked by Lionsgate early in 2018, will be penned by Shay Hatten, the scribe behind Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead and John Wick: Chapter 3 -- Parabellum. The film was first announced in 2017 with Len Wiseman signing on as the director in 2019.

It is currently unclear if Keanu Reeves will make an appearance in the film, though he will serve as one of the film's producers. If he does make an appearance, it will most likely be a cameo. The Ballerina character was first introduced in the third installment of the John Wick franchise when Reeves' character visits the Director (played by Anjelica Houston) in New York City, where she oversees a program that trains young male wrestlers to be assassins and young ballet dancers to be femme fatales.
