Sony delays Jared Leto's Morbius release date.

Sony has postponed the theatrical release of “Morbius,” the comic book thriller starring Jared Leto, as studios continue to grapple with the pandemic’s impact on the film industry.

Morbius is Sony’s adaptation of the Marvel anti-hero Morbius the Living Vampire. The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, based on the Marvel Comics character created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane who first appeared in 1971's "Amazing Spider-Man” #101."

The film stars Academy Award winner Jared Leto , Emmy nominee Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Emmy nominee Jared Harris as Morbius' mentor, and Tyrese Gibson as an FBI Agent.

The Sony movie will now land on 8 October, which puts it after the planned launch of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, though that could also change.
