Born 8th October 1949, Sigourney Weaver grew up in new York, united Sates of America. Christened Susan Weaver, Sigourney changed her name after reading 'The Great Gatsby'.
Sigourney gained a bachelor of English at Stanford University in 1872, she also attended Yale drama school, where her interests in acting was instigated.
After a brief period working on stage, Weaver earned a role in Madman (1978), followed by Ridley Scott's Alien (1979). Her real star status wasn't achieved however, until the enormous box office hit with Ghostbusters (1984), a launching pad for Sigourney, who never looked back since
She currently resides in America with her husband, daughter Charlotte and son Simpson.
