Nicolas Cage in Talks to Star in Spider-Man Noir Series.

Nicolas Cage is reportedly in talks to star in the live-action Spider-Man Noir show, potentially reprising his role from the animated Spider-Verse.

More than a year ago will learned that Amazon is set to produce a live-action series centered around Spider-Man Noir, a superhero set in 1930s New York City. Unlike the traditional Spider-Man story, this series will focus on an older, more weathered character, quite different from Peter Parker. Developed by Oren Uziel, the show will have its own path within the Marvel universe, with Uziel serving as both writer and executive producer.

In recent years, Nicolas Cage has appeared in films like The Retirement Plan, Sympathy for the Devil, and Renfield, along with a CGI appearance in the polarizing DC movie The Flash. He was most recently seen in the acclaimed film Dream Scenario, which was released by A24 in November 2023; the actor's performance put him up for a Golden Globe Award.

Cage famously voiced the character of Spider-Man Noir in Sony's blockbuster smash, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). And while Cage didn't reprise the role in the multi-million-dollar box office sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), the actor holds the character in high esteem. Cage said in an interview with ComicBook.com:

"Well, I think it's a wonderful character. It's a character that lends itself to channeling some of my favorite noir movie stars, for me, is the coolest superhero. I think to have that combined with a noir, like 1930s golden age movie star attitude, makes it one of the most exciting of all the superhero characters"
