Chan, Cage and Jovovich out of Expendables 3.

It's been a rocky – pardon the pun – road to Sly Stallone's final cast for 'The Expendables 3'.

Rumours bounced around the web, and there was even a bizarrely-written statement purported to be from Stallone himself confirming Nicolas Cage was 100% officially on board.

But now the film's producer Boaz Davidson has confirmed the final cast on his Facebook page.

Cage - who more or less officially ruled himself out a week or so ago - and fellow rumoured cast members Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich will not be involved, it seems.

The confirmed cast for the third outing in the 'Expendables' series now includes: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Rand Couture, Antonio Banderas, Ronda Rousey, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Victor Ortiz and Kellan Lutz.

Though the announcement makes no mention of Mickey Rourke, who Stallone had previously said was on board.Tom Sizemore, who also said he was up for a role, appears to be absent too.

Gibson is thought to be playing the film's principal villain, which could prove to be a massive amount of fun.

Meanwhile, Ford stepped in after Sly branded Bruce Willis 'greedy and lazy' (or was it 'lazy and greedy'?) for allegedly demanding $1 million-a-day for four days work on the film.

Ford won't be playing Willis's character Church, however, but a new role.

Speaking to Access Hollywood about his appointment to the cast, Ford effused: "Great! Exciting! It's fun."
