Jackman was named "Australian Star of the Year" for 1999 at the Australian Movie Connection (AMC), which is equivalent to America's ShoWest exhibitor convention. He received the MO Award (Australia's Tony Award) for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in Sunset Boulevard and an MO Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.
