Jolie confirms Cleopatra film talks.

Angelina Jolie has confirmed she might play Cleopatra on the big screen.

The Maleficent star said she has been in discussions about making the film about the Egyptian queen - and hinted that if she does take on the role, it could be her swansong.

She has been quoted on Radio 5 live: "We've been working on it. There's been lots of different ideas of directors and lots of different discussions. The script has been written by Eric Roth, who is a dear friend and a brilliant writer."

She went on: "She's complicated, it's complicated to get this one right. I think we're getting there. It's getting close. I imagine the preparation for it is going to be big."

Oscar-winner Angelina suggested that if she does play Cleopatra, the part could be her last.

"It's one of those that you think maybe that's the one you put everything into and that's where you end it, that's where you finish - in a great way! What could you do beyond that one?" said the mum-of-six.

Angelina, 37, has previously hinted that she might start to focus on her directing career and her humanitarian work, which includes being a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
