Pierce Brosnan was reportedly dropped from playing James Bond because he wanted 42 million dollars to reprise the role.

Producers of the Bond films decided to finding a new 007 for the upcoming Casino Royale reports Contactmusic.com.

Brosnan says he was "surprised, disappointed and saddened" when he found out the producers' decision.

The star claims his wage "was an honest fee in terms of how much blood, sweat and tears I put into the role".
