Dave Bautista Joins 'Knives Out' Sequel.

Dave Bautista is in talks to join Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson's "Knives Out" sequel at Netflix.

The project reunites Bautista and Craig, who previously appeared together in the 2015 James Bond film "Spectre". Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is also teaming with Netflix on Zack Snyder’s zombie thriller "Army of the Dead". His upcoming film roles include Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" remake, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "Thor: Love and Thunder".

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the first Knives Out turned out to be a big hit when it was released in theaters in 2019. In addition to widespread critical acclaim, the movie also scored more than $311 million at the box office.

Although Johnson has remained quiet about what Knives Out 2 will be about, he confirmed in February 2020 that the film will follow an Agatha Christie-like model, showing Blanc tackling an entirely new mystery, as opposed to being a direct sequel to the hit 2019 film, stating, "The idea would be Daniel Craig as the detective - whole new cast, whole new case, whole new location. It’s just like doing another Hercule Poirot mystery like Agatha Christie did."
