Emma Watson and Daniel Bruhl Enter Historical Drama Colonia.

Emma Watson is heading into a war zone for her next starring role in Colonia, from Academy Award-winning German director Florian Gallenberger.

Watson plays Lena, a young woman whose husband Daniel (Daniel Bruhl) is abducted by Pinochet's secret police during the 1973 Chilean military coup d'etat. Lena must join a dangerous cult in the sealed-off Colonia Dignidad area in order to rescue him.

Gallenberger, who won his Oscar in 2001 for foreign language short Quiero Ser (I Want To Be…), co-wrote Colonia with Torsten Wenzel, and the Benjamin Herrmann production will shoot until the end of the year in Luxembourg, Munich, Berlin and South America.

Watson was last seen in Darren Aronofsky's box office smash Noah, and will next star in Alejandro Amenabar's psychological drama Regression. Bruhl, who has worked with Gallenberger on John Rabe and Honolulu, was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role as a determined Formula 1 racer in Ron Howard's Rush.
