British actress KATE WINSLET has given birth to a baby girl. The happy event took place on Thursday (12OCT00).

It is the 25-year-old actress's first child with husband film producer JIM THREAPLETON.

The TITANIC star now plans to take a long break from her career. She married Threapleton, 26, two years ago after they met on the set of the film HIDEOUS KINKY in Morocco.
