Scarlett Johansson and her fiancé Romain Dauriac have welcomed a daughter.

A spokesperson for the couple told The AP today (September 4) that Johansson has given birth to a baby girl named Rose.

Johansson and her newborn daughter are now resting comfortably, according to the star's representative.

The pair never officially announced Scarlett's pregnancy, but the Lost In Translation star hinted at her upcoming role as a mum back in December when she told an interviewer: "I would like to have my own family, that would be nice."

"They say it's never the right time and I am sure that's true, but I think you have to plan it like anything else. At some point it is something I look forward to."

Johansson and Dauriac - a French ad agency owner - have been together since 2012. Their engagement was publicly announced last summer.
