Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon are to star in a movie based on the true story of boxer Micky Ward.

Darren Aronofsky is in talks to direct The Fighter, reports Variety.com.

Wahlberg will play the Boston boxer, known as "Irish" Micky Ward.

Damon is being lined up for the role of his elder half-brother Dickie, who helped him overcome adversity.

Filming could begin in early summer in Massachusetts.
