Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in talks for a lead role in the new Jurassic World 4 movie, which is being fast-tracked for a 2025 release date.

The film is expected to be a soft reboot, as previous franchise stars like Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, and Sam O'Neill are not expected to return. However, the film will likely still be set in the same universe.

"Godzilla" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" filmmaker Gareth Edwards will direct the project from a script by the original "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World" scribe by David Koepp.

The film will return Johansson to the world of franchises. She starred as Black Widow in a number of Marvel Studios movies, including the Avengers features. She has earned two Oscar nominations, for Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit. She has a voice role in the upcoming animated feature Transformers One, and has a big-budget Apple feature co-starring Channing Tatum also due out this year.
