Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender are attached to star in Steven Soderbergh’s new spy thriller "Black Bag".

Soderbergh is on board to direct the feature project, which has a script by David Keopp. This is the latest team-up between the director and writer, who have the thriller Presence premiering at the Sundance Film Festival Friday.

Both Blanchett and Fassbender have starred for Soderbergh before, the former in 2006’s WWII drama “The Good German,” the latter in 2011’s spy thriller "Haywire" alongside Gina Carano.

The story of the new film will be set in the United Kingdom, and will be shot in and around London in May. Plot specifics however are under wraps, as are character specifics.

The project arrived with studios and streamers this week as Soderbergh seeks financing and distribution for the film – so no deals are officially set as yet.
