Shea Whigham - Details

Biography

Shea Whigham (Wilson) is a New York stage actor, who director Joel Schumacher cast in Tigerland (2000) on the spot after watching what was
literally a knockdown, drag out, extraordinarily physical audition with
co-star Colin Farrell.

Shea became an actor while attending college in Texas on a tennis scholarship. He auditioned for, and was accepted to, one of the 31 coveted openings in the prestigious SUNY Purchase Conservatory in New York. At Purchase, Whigham met and roomed with actor Kirk Acevedo
("Oz"). After graduation, the two co-founded The Rorschach Group, a New
York-based theater company of which Whigham served as Artistic Director
for three years, while performing in downtown Manhattan.
