Biography

PAUL SAROSSY, C.S.C. recently worked on the drama "Felicia's Journey" and the comedy "Jerry & Tom," starring Joe Mantegna. He also shot the highly acclaimed drama "Affliction," directed by Paul Schrader.

A native of Toronto, Canada, Sarossy received the Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Feature Film Cinematography and a Genie Award (Canadian Oscar) for Best Cinematography on Atom Egoyan's 1994 film "Exotica," and later collaborated on "The Sweet Hereafter," which again won Sarossy a Genie.

Sarossy won his first C.S.C. Award in 1990 for Patricia Rozema's "White Room" and was nominated the same year for another film, Egoyan's "Speaking Parts." Sarossy also photographed Egoyan's "The Adjuster," two films of Denys Arcand: the "Vue D'Ailleurs" segment of the anthology feature "Montreal Stories," and the feature "Love and Human Remains"; Srinivas Krishna's "Masala" and "Lulu"; John Bailey's "Mariette in Ecstasy"; and Glen Gordon Caron's "Picture Perfect."

Sarossy's television credits include "Marciano," "Rated X," "Grand Larceny," and Norman Jewison's "Soir Blue," which won him a nomination from the American Society of Cinematographers for Best Photography in a miniseries. He also photographed Nancy Savoca's "Dark Eyes" and Peter Bogdanovich's "Song of Songs."
