Biography

Indian-born ROSHAN SETH won a 1998 Genie Award (Canadian Oscar) for Best Actor for his portrayal of Gustad in Such a Long Journey. After attending college in Delhi, India, he moved to England, where he studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

He has worked extensively in British film, television and theatre, as well as in U.S. productions. His major films include Gandhi, Mississippi Masala, A Passage to India, Not Without My Daughter and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. One of his early films was the British art house hit, My Beautiful Laundrette. He has toured the world with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and performed King Lear at the National Theatre in London. His television work includes Flight, A Buddha of Suburbia and The Peddler.
