Biography

IAN BRYCE won a Golden Globe Award and earned an Academy Award® nomination for his work as a producer on Steven Spielberg's World War II drama Saving Private Ryan (1998) In addition, the film won Best Picture honors from numerous critics organizations, including the New York, Los Angeles and Broadcast Film Critics, and was the top-grossing film of 1998.

Bryce more recently produced the romantic comedy Forces of Nature (1999) starring Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock. He is currently producing the upcoming action adventure Spider-man (2002) which is now in pre-production.

Bryce had earlier produced the blockbuster Twister (1988) directed by Jan De Bont, Hard Rain (1998) and Penelope Spheeris' big-screen version of the classic television series Beverly Hillbillies, The (1993) Bryce also executive produced Jan De Bont's action hit Speed (1994) was the line producer/production manager on Rising Sun (1993) and was an associate producer/production manager on Tim Burton's smash hit Batman Returns (1992)

Born in England, Bryce began his career as a production assistant on Star Wars Episode VI : Return Of The Jedi (1983) and later began his association with Steven Spielberg as a second assistant director on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

He segued into producing as an associate producer on Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985) and Howard the Duck (1986)

He went on to serve as production manager on such films as Tucker: The Man and His Dream (1988) Willow (1988) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) Rocketeer, THE (1991) and Joe Versus the Volcano (1990)
