A native Canadian, Daphna Kastner moved to New York City to study acting with Lee Strasberg and went on to appear in a number of off Broadway productions including "Equus," "The Taming of the Shrew," and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
Kastner went on to become an actress in and writer of European films before returning to the U.S., where she starred in the acclaimed independent feature Julia Has Two Lovers. In 1995 Kastner directed her first feature French Exit which she also wrote, and in 1998 she directed, wrote and starred in the romantic drama Spanish Fly filmed entirely in Spare. Further acting credits include Zana in Love, Venice, Venice and Eating.
