Dan Joffre - Details

Biography

A diverse performer and accomplished athlete, Joffre was once an amateur wrestler under Olympic coach, Victor Zilberman. A native of Montreal, Canada, he boasted ten Canadian National medals, gold at the Maccabiah Games in Israel, and gold in Sambo. It was while competing in Montreal, that Joffre initiated his professional acting career. He began performing in local musicals and children’s theater, and then, in 1996, he performed in his first major production, Evita, for Lyric Theatre in Montreal, and then as Magaldi at Montreal’s Centaur Theatre.

Joffre moved to Vancouver in 1997 to pursue his love of comedy, and was selected to study improvisation/sketch in the resident training program of The Vancouver Theatre-Sports League. Soon after, as a mainstage player, he began performing in the Theatre’s numerous comedic formats.

Recently, Joffre caught the eye of Keenen Ivory Wayans and the casting team of SCARY MOVIE, when he won the 1999 Just For Laughs World Improv Championships in Montreal. Joffre was selected as the tournament’s MVP.

His television credits have included the principal antagonist on The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, a guest starring role on Disney’s Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and a series lead on PBS’s The Charlie Horse Music Pizza Show, starring the late Shari Lewis.
