Rick Baker - Details

Five-time Academy Awardâ-winner, RICK BAKER created the special effects make-up and suit for Jim Carrey as the Grinch as well as the look for over 100 of the Whos that appear in the movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

He won an Academy Awardâ for his work on Men In Black, The Nutty Professor, Ed Wood, Harry and the Hendersons and An American Werewolf in London. Additionally, Baker received Academy Awardâ nominations for Mighty Joe Young, Coming to America and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan. Most recently, he created the special make-up effects for the remake of Planet of The Apes (the 1966 original was what inspired Baker to his profession).

His many television credits include Harry and the Hendersons, Something is Out There, Beauty and the Beast, Werewolf, Thriller and The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, for which he received an Emmy Award.
