Rachel Weisz starred opposite Brendan Fraser in the 1999 summer blockbuster action adventure The Mummy and will reprise that role in the sequel in 2000.
After studying English at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Weisz formed her own theatre company, which performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. On stage, her performance in Sean Mathiass production of Noel Cowards Design For Living won her the Evening Standard Award as Best Newcomer, and she recently starred in Tennessee Williams Suddenly Last Summer, for the same director.
Weisz made her big screen debut in Bertoluccis Stealing Beauty, and other film credits include Chain Reaction, co-starring with Keanu Reeves; Michael Winterbottoms I Want You; The Land Girls, directed by David Leland; and Sunshine, Istvan Szabos epic production, starring opposite Ralph Fiennes.
She will next star opposite Joseph Fiennes and Jude Law in Enemy at the Gate, the saga of the siege of Stalingrad, as well as reprising her role in The Mummy 2.
