Laura Linney - Details

Biography

Laura Linney was recently seen in Truman Show, The (1998)
(Peter Weir) opposite Jim Carrey. She also starred in Primal Fear (1996) (Gregory Hoblit) and Absolute Power with Clint Eastwood. Linney made her film debut in Congo (1995) and also appeared in Simple Twist Of Fate, A (1994) (Gilles MacKinnon), Dave (Ivan Reitman), Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993) (Steven Zaillian) and Lorenzo's Oil (1992)
(George Miller). Her television work includes PBS's Tales of the City and More Tales of the City and the Hallmark Hall of Fame's Blindspot.

Linney has worked extensively in the theatre. She received a Theatre World award and a Drama Desk nomination for her role in "Sight Unseen." Additionally, on Broadway she starred in "The Seagull," "Six Degrees of Separation," "Hedda Gabler" (for which she received a Calloway Award) and "Honour," and most recently "Uncle Vanya" co-starring Derek Jacobi.

Linney is a graduate of The Juilliard School and studied at Brown University and the Arts Theater School, Moscow.
