Harrison FordHARRISON FORD has starred in some of the biggest movie blockbusters of all time, including the first "Star Wars" trilogy and the "Indiana Jones" franchise, making him one of the most successful box office stars in cinema history.

In February 2000, Ford received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute. He had previously earned Oscar® and Golden Globe nominations for his performance in Peter Weir's acclaimed drama "Witness," and was also Golden Globe-nominated for his roles in "Sabrina," "The Fugitive" and "The Mosquito Coast." In 1994, he was named the Star of the Century by the National Association of Theater Owners.

Born in Chicago, Ford moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career after attending Ripon College in Wisconsin. Making his living as a carpenter between acting jobs, Ford landed his breakthrough role in George Lucas' 1973 hit "American Graffiti." The next year he appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Conversation," followed by Stanley Kramer's television production of "The Court Marshall of Lt. William Calley."
