Biography

JANET JACKSON is best known for her phenomenally successful award-winning career as a singer and performing artist whose world tours have broken countless attendance records. She has sold over 45 million albums worldwide, and her 19 gold-certified singles are the most of any female recording artist in history.

Janet began her career at age 7, and following her television sitcom work in Good Times, A New Kind of Family, Different Strokes and Fame, she put her acting career on hold to concentrate on music.
After the record-breaking success of the albums Control and Rhythm Nation, Janet turned her attention back to acting, receiving critical acclaim for her feature film debut in John Singleton's Poetic Justice. Her hit single Again from the album entitled Janet, was prominently featured in the film, and earned Academy Award" and Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Original Song.

She then joined her brother Michael on the 1995 #1 hit single Scream and appeared in the ground-breaking video. After releasing another hit album entitled The Velvet Rope, Janet collaborated with Busta Rhymes on the Grammy-nominated hit What's It Gonna Be.

She oversees a vast array of projects as president and CEO of JDJ Entertainment.
