ABC has decided to revamp its Sunday night Wonderful World of Disney by featuring primarily "event material" such as new TV versions of The Wiz, South Pacific, The Miracle Worker, Mame, Fiddler on the Roof and Snow White, USA Today reported today (Monday).
The network indicated that it will cut back on other films aimed primarily at younger viewers. Spot buyer Laura Caraccioli-Davis of Starcom welcomed the move. "When (ABC airs) a big-name title, they seem to do really well, but other than that there's nothing special about tuning in to the Wonderful World of Disney," she said.
