Eddie Redmayne knows as well as anyone that "the stakes are high" for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The Oscar-winning actor is set to star as renowned wizard Newt Scamander in the upcoming J.K Rowling-penned spinoff.

However, Redmayne has admitted that he feels pressure, especially given the success of the previous Harry Potter films.

"The stakes are high because they were so good before," he told E! News. "You don't want to screw it up."

Redmayne continued: "It's a complete privilege for me. I love JK Rowling, I love the Harry Potter films and books, so for me this is just the most wondrous gift really."
