Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible 5 shifted forward to summer release.

The latest instalment of the spy movie franchise had been scheduled to open at Christmas, but will be moved up for a July 31 release in the US.

Paramount has also shifted the animated/live-action hybrid movie Monster Trucks to Mission: Impossible 5's prior Christmas Day slot.

Mission: Impossible 5 will reunite Cruise with his Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie.

McQuarrie also wrote the Cruise movies Valkyrie and Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow.
