Leonardo DiCaprio has turned down the chance to play Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle's biopic of the Apple co-founder.
The Wolf of Wall Street star had been in talks to reunite with The Beach director, but has instead chosen to take a break from acting after he completes work on Alejandro González Iñárritu's The Revenant.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper are now said to be on the shortlist for the Sony Pictures biopic.
Bale was the first choice for David Fincher, who had been in talks to direct the film earlier this year before dropping out due to monetary and creative control concerns.
Aaron Sorkin has written the script for the Jobs movie based on Walter Isaacson's biography. The film will reportedly centre around the launch of three key Apple products: the Mac, NeXt and the iPod.
