Date: 11th September 2013

Jurassic Park sequel will be called Jurassic World.

The 'Jurassic Park' sequel now has a name – 'Jurassic World'.

The formerly delayed production has a release date too, with Universal slating it for June 12, 2015, joining the wealth of huge projects coming out the year after next.

'Jurassic World' will fill the slot recently vacated by 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5', which has now been delayed due to issues with its script.

In addition to the title and release information, director Colin Trevorrow, who helmed the excellent 'Safety Not Guaranteed', is now credited as being one of the film's writers, along with Derek Connolly.

The script was previously only credited to husband and wife team Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, writers of 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes', suggesting that the plot has perhaps altered somewhat since then.

There is still no word on where the plot might be taken, however, but the rumour that the action may happen in a fully-functioning 'Jurassic Park' could perhaps tally with the new title.
