Terminator will be back for trilogy.

The Terminator is coming back in a new trilogy of films, Paramount has confirmed.

The film company announced it was rebooting the franchise, with the first film planned for release in July 2015.

Arnold Schwarzenegger starred as the title character in the original 1984 movie, which spawned a trilogy that earned more than one billion US dollars at the box office worldwide. The star, who was the governor of California for seven years, played the cyborg assassin in three films released between 1984 and 2003, but didn't appear in a fourth film, 2009's Terminator Salvation, which starred Christian Bale and Sam Worthington.

Although Paramount did not reveal any casting details, Arnie has already said he'll star as the Terminator in the fifth film, according to website The Arnold Fans. He apparently told the site: "I'm very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator, which we start shooting in January and I'm also going to do King Conan - to play that role and also to do another Twins movie."

"So I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I'm looking forward to doing those films."
