Ewan McGregor has said that he's 'totally up for' making a sequel to 'Trainspotting'.
Danny Boyle, who directed the iconic first film, revealed earlier this year that he is working on a follow-up, based on Irvine Welsh's own sequel novel 'Porno'.
Now it seems that McGregor is keen to get the ball rolling too, in reprising his role as heroin addict Mark Renton.
"It's funny - Irvine Welsh's novel, 'Porno', is set ten years after 'Trainspotting', but I wasn't ready to do it then, for lots of reasons," he said during a Q&A session after a reunion screening of the film in London.
"But now there's talk of it happening in a few years' time, and I'm totally up for it."
"I'd be so chuffed to be back on set with everybody and I think it would be an extraordinary experience."
Speaking about the project at the SXSW Festival in March, Boyle said: "There's always been this long term plan for 'Trainspotting 2,' if John Hodge can produce a decent enough script, I don't think there will be any barriers to Ewan or any of the cast coming back.?"
"I think they'll wanna know that the parts are good so they don't feel like they are letting anyone down."
"The reason for doing it again is that people cherish the original, people remember it or have caught up with it if they never saw because they were younger. So you want to make sure you don't disappoint people. That will be the only criteria I think."
Boyle has since made up with McGregor, after the pair fell out over the casting of 'The Beach'.
It was said that McGregor was set to take the role, but Boyle ended up casting Leonardo DiCaprio instead.
"We didn't treat him very well, I've got to be honest about it, we didn't behave at our best," said Boyle.
