Emma Stone could take the lead in Woody Allen's new film

Emma Stone could be joining the cast of Woody Allen's forthcoming film.

Croods, The (2013) star is in talks to take on a leading role in the filmmaker's new project.

It is unclear at this stage what role Stone would play, as details behind Allen's film are being kept under wraps for now, Deadline reports.

The Midnight in Paris (2011) director reportedly has plans to film in the South of France and will write, produce and direct the new movie.

Stone is currently working on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Birdman.

The actress is also attached to an untitled Cameron Crowe project and Crimson Peak.
