Viggo wants in on Hobbit/Rings film.

Viggo Mortensen has said he'd love to play Aragorn again to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings films.

The 54-year-old played Aragorn in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and has told Total Film he would jump at the chance to step back into the role.

He said: "Would I play Aragorn again? Sure, if it seemed sensible to do so."

"He's not in the book of The Hobbit, but if they're working with the appendices they may be intending to bridge the 60-year Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings gap."

"I think I would have heard by now so I have to assume... But Peter Jackson is famous for his reshoots, so you never know!"

Viggo could be in extra material that bridges the gap between The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings.

Aragorn not appearing in the book is not necessarily a barrier to him joining the upcoming films.

Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee and Elijah Wood's characters all popped up in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey despite not being in the book.

The Road actor Viggo is not expected to be in the second Hobbit film, The Desolation Of Smaug.
