Lindsay Lohan Seeks Plea Bargain

Lindsay Lohan is willing to make a plea deal in her grand theft case – if she doesn't get time behind bars, her attorney told CNN Thursday.

"Ms. Lohan maintains her innocence, and now that I've seen the police reports, I believe the case is entirely defensible," lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley says. "Having said that, we will entertain a discussion concerning a plea if it means no jail so that she can move forward with her recovery and her career."

Lohan, 24, faces a maximum of three years in prison if convicted of stealing a $2,500 necklace.

The actress pleaded not guilty to the charge Wednesday and remains free on bail. Her next hearing is Feb. 23.

In another case, it remains to be seen whether Riverside County prosecutors will charge her in a scuffle with a Betty Ford Center employee in December.
