Christian Bale's mother and sister have spoken out about their reported fight with the actor, calling it a "family situation".

The Batman star, 34, was arrested on Tuesday over allegations he attacked his mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, at London's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday night - as he prepared for new movie The Dark Knight's London premiere on Monday.

The star, 34, was arrested and held for more than four hours after attending a London police station by appointment.

Mr Bale is alleged to have lashed out at his mother and sister in his suite at London's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday.
